The Department of Logistics and Infrastructure is seeking motivated civil or electrical engineering professional to support the delivery of construction infrastructure in the specialisation of Intelligent Transport Infrastructure. To improvement the Northern Territory road network with modern technology in traffic signals and street lighting.
The role sits within the Civil Construction – Top End unit and offer the opportunity to work on essential infrastructure that supports safe, efficient and reliable transport for communities across urban, regional and remote locations.
Whether you are an experienced project manager or looking to build your career in new infrastructure technology related to traffic systems and infrastructure, these positions offer hands on project management experience, and exposure to emerging technologies and the chance to contribute to Territory wide outcomes.
About the Role
Working as part of a small, highly skilled and dynamic team, you will be involved in the delivery of Capital and Minor New Works projects that include intelligent transport systems (ITS) and electrical infrastructure such as streetlights and traffic signals, for civil related assets. You also will provide engineering advice on the specialisation of ITS and electrical infrastructure related to civil assets to colleagues and related business units within the Division.
At the SP1 level, you will lead projects, provide specialist engineering construction advice and supervise allocated technical staff.
At the P3 level, you will manage projects under direction, contribute engineering construction expertise and coordinate contractors and works.
About You
You are someone who enjoys working in a construction, project management services environment and takes pride in delivering infrastructure that has a real impact on communities.
Depending on level, you may bring:
- Experience in project management of construction infrastructure projects, ITS, electrical or technical infrastructure environments.
- Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
- The ability to work independently, to achieve objectives that contribute to a large delivery program.
- Confidence working with contractors, stakeholders and internal partners
- An interest in current and emerging traffic and transport technologies
