Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Associate Structure to join our dynamic team in Sydney. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading and delivering structural engineering projects, overseeing design, analysis, and project execution. This role involves close collaboration with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure innovative, high-quality, and cost-effective solutions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, leadership abilities, and a commitment to excellence in structural engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage structural engineering projects, ensuring efficient execution from concept to completion while maintaining project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Apply engineering principles and software tools to design and analyse structural systems, including steel, concrete, timber, and masonry components.
- Conduct site inspections to assess construction progress, compliance with design specifications, and structural integrity.
- Collaborate closely with clients, architects, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure seamless coordination and project success.
- Review engineering reports, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to support project requirements and design solutions.
- Oversee quality assurance processes, ensuring accuracy and reliability in design calculations, drawings, and project deliverables.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities by building and maintaining strong client relationships, contributing to business development, and supporting proposal preparation.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering professional development within the team.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of local experience in structural engineering, preferably in consulting or design firms.
- Advantage to have experience in PT slab design.
- Experience working in tall buildings through the design and construction phase will be an advantage.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as ETABS, RAPT, RAM Concept, SPACE GASS, and other relevant tools.
- Strong knowledge of Australian building codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., AS 3600, AS 4100, AS 1170).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Project management experience, including the ability to oversee multiple projects, meet deadlines, and manage resources efficiently.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality engineering solutions while ensuring compliance with technical and safety standards.
- Business development mindset, with experience in client relationship management and securing new project opportunities.
