We have an exciting opportunity for a Structural Engineer, the role will suit someone looking to work on various projects in a friendly and supportive team with a growing market leader. Role and Responsibilities
- As a Design Engineer you will provide support to the Principal Structural Engineer to meet or exceed project objectives
- Complete Structural design and modelling to support a range of industrial, urban or regional developments
- Provide technical input and direction/leadership working on a variety of projects
- Mentor other relevant members of Orion Group
- Plan, execute and finalise projects according to deadlines
- Manage project budgets, forecasting and invoicing
- Coordinate with clients to grow and maintain client relationships
- Provide site support where required, including site visits and inspections
- Demonstrate creativity, foresight, and mature judgement in anticipating and solving design issues
- Coordinate design and drafting activities with drafters to provide drawing sets to Orion standards
- Ensure work output is of a technically high standard, meets client needs, and activities are commercially viable
- Liaise with various project stakeholders including; clients, consultants, contractors and relevant authorities
Skills and Expertise
- Bachelor Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Minimum 3+ Years Industry Experience
- Proficient in the use of SLABS, RC Building, Space Gas and structural design software
- Working knowledge with the use of Auto CAD software is a plus
- Demonstrated understanding and compliance with Australian standards
- A keen eye for detail and excellent computer skills
- Able to work both independently and as part of team
- Efficient time management skills to achieve project deadlines and budgets
