The Role
Surveillance and Control System Program Office (S&CSPO), based at Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Base Williamtown, has an opportunity for an Air Battlespace Management (ABM) Change Lead to join their team. Operating in an integrated environment comprising of Military, Australian Public Servants and Industry Partners, the role is responsible for the proactive management of the ABMS Baseline through the monitoring, review, coordination and reporting of system changes (including capability configuration, program schedule and contract deliverables) in accordance with established Engineering Management Processes. This role provides critical decision-making support to the ABM executive team and requires strong coordination, stakeholder engagement and organisational skills.

About our Team
The Air Battlespace Management Enterprise (ABME) is an established partnership model between Defence and Industry (Surveillance and Control System Program Office, Surveillance and Response Group, Boeing Defence Australia, Lockheed Martin Australia, and Daronmont Technologies). Within the ABME we are responsible for governance oversight to Industry Partners by contributing to various technical and engineering management activities to provide support and advise on engineering compliance and assurance matters, include engineering change management.

The Change Lead will work within the ABME team at RAAF Base Williamtown and will be interacting with staff across Industry and Defence to deliver integrated Air Battle Management capability to the operators in support Integrated Air and Missile Defence missions. The team is located in the premier tourist destination; the Hunter region. With idyllic surf beaches in Port Stephens and Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, the Hunter wine region, and the Barrington Tops within an hour of the Base.

Surveillance & Control Systems Program Office (S&CSPO) CAF14 is a fast-paced, integrated and dynamic environment where the Change Lead is integral to the management and coordination of system changes in a cost effective and efficient manner that meet the Capability Manager’s needs. The successful candidate will have a high level of technical acumen with the ability to work under pressure with limited resources. Strong written and verbal skills are also required in order to engage with internal and external stakeholders as necessary to achieve the required outcomes for Defence.

Our ideal candidate is a self-starter who has had experience supporting executive teams, engineering change management activities and the review of technical documentation, whilst also managing priorities and deadlines within an integrated workforce. The candidate needs to be motivated and willing to take on new challenges, whilst identifying process improvements.
