We are seeking a highly capable engineer in bridges & highway structures design and asset maintenance, for our Structures team at the Department for Transport and Main Roads (TMR), Queensland. This role will suit an experienced and knowledgeable engineer who enjoys challenges and variety in their work. It offers the chance to make a real difference to the service and delivery outcomes of Queensland's transport infrastructure.
The successful candidate will be a champion of technical excellence, adept at navigating complexity and solving wicked problems with clarity and innovation. You will lead with a solution-focused mindset and a commitment to progress, with the agility and knowledge to pivot between varying demands and competing priorities.
You will bring a breadth of experience in leading structural design and maintenance projects, mentoring junior employees and delivering practical solutions on time and on budget. Knowledge sharing and coaching others will be a major part of this role.
The scope of the work may change from day-to-day across the structure lifecycle.
Our teams carry out work such as structural design and drafting, major project design reviews, standards and guidelines, product review and testing, construction oversight, asset maintenance, asset management, heavy vehicle access management and supporting TMR strategic initiatives and programmes.
