Looking for a role where your technical skills can support your community?

This year, marks 100 years since we began treating the wastewater from sinks, toilets and drains at the Bendigo and Castlemaine Water Reclamation Plants. Fast forward a century, and we have big plans to ensure these critical pieces of infrastructure continue to underpin our community’s health, and support growth and success for the future.

To help us, we’re looking for a Senior Technical Operations Officer to join us on a 2-year fixed term basis as we embark on major upgrades at the Bendigo and Castlemaine plants.

As you grow in this role, you’ll make it your mission to develop an ‘insider’s knowledge’ of our Water Reclamation Plants. You’ll become a ‘go-to’ person for technical expertise, and work with us to implement strategies to improve performance, management systems, practices, and to ensure compliance with regulatory and legislative standards.

A snapshot of your day
•    Provide advice and implement actions to ensure the quality of treated water/wastewater meets or exceeds our regulatory obligations
•    Manage process and operations of Bendigo WRP and Castlemaine WRP
•    Facilitate a high level of integration between the upgrade works and existing plant operations.
•    Manage reuse operation and farming operations at Bendigo WRP
•    Form part of our on-call roster, which may see you work outside of your regular working hours from time-to-time.

The successful candidate will have experience working in water or wastewater treatment, or transferrable skills gained in a networks, operations, or management. A tertiary degree in engineering, science or a related discipline is desirable, but not essential where comprehensive operational experience exists.

You’ll be a stickler for detail, have great communication and project management skills, won’t be afraid of a deadline, and will be keen to grow your career in an organisation doing work that matters to its community.

Sound like you? We’d love to hear from you.
