The Department of Logistics and Infrastructure is seeking motivated Senior Project Managers to join the Civil Construction team. These roles provide the opportunity to manage and deliver capital works projects that support safe, reliable transport networks across the Territory.
About the Roles
Senior Project Manager (P3)
Manage the delivery of civil infrastructure projects, supporting the planning, design, and construction of road and bridge assets across the Northern Territory.
Principal Project Manager (SP1/SAO1)
Lead and manage a team to deliver complex projects, providing strong project, contract and stakeholder management expertise to ensure successful delivery of capital works programs.
Both roles operate within a multidisciplinary team delivering civil infrastructure in remote, regional and urban environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver capital works projects from planning through to completion
- Manage all project phases including investigation and planning, design development, procurement and construction
- Undertake Superintendent’s Representative duties for construction contracts and manage design consultants
- Ensure projects achieve agreed time, cost, quality, environmental and safety outcomes
- Apply sound contract management and procurement practices in line with legislation and departmental policies
- Build effective working relationships with stakeholders, contractors and consultants
- Prepare clear technical advice, reports, briefings and contractual correspondence
- Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental and legislative requirements
About You
You will bring qualifications in Civil Engineering (or a related discipline) and eligibility
To succeed at P3, you will also demonstrate:
- High level project and contract management and administration experience
- Proven capability managing civil construction projects
- Experience in negotiation, influencing and dispute resolution
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including briefings and submissions
To succeed at SP1/SAO1, you will also demonstrate:
- Strong project and contract management and administration experience
- Proven capability managing complex civil construction programs and projects
- Experience in negotiation, influencing and dispute resolution
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including briefings and submissions
- Lead, manage and multi-disciplined resources on legislation/compliance matters and technical standards.

The Work Environment
These roles involve travel across the Northern Territory, including to remote locations. A current driver’s licence is required, and travel may include 4WD and light aircraft.
