The Role
We are looking for a motivated aviation professional to lead a team of civilian and military personnel in the assessment and issue of Aircraft Maintenance Licences and assurance of Maintenance Training Organisations that instruct and assess Aircraft Maintenance Licence competencies.
Duties include:
- Issue Military Aircraft Maintenance Licences (MAMLs)
- Review and amend MAML policy documents including regulations, guidance and international recognition arrangements
- Maintain MAML application assessing tool
- Maintenance Training Organisational (MTO) approvals and changes IAW DASR 147
- Military Aircraft Type Rating approvals IAW DASR 66
- Oversight of ADF and Defence Industry approved MTOs (approx. 20 independent venues)
- Develop formal responses to queries related to DASR 66/147
- Develop and deliver DASR 66 & 147 training to ADF and Defence Industry organisations
- Compliance with and improvement of DASA quality management system

Our Ideal applicant will have:
- A detailed understanding of contemporary continuing airworthiness regulations.
- A good knowledge of aircraft maintenance licencing concepts and associated training.
- Experience with maintenance of complex aircraft.
- Experience working with quality management systems.
- The ability and willingness to work within an integrated and diverse workforce.
- An eye for detail with the ability to understand the relationship between regulation and aviation hazards.
- The skills to successfully lead a small team through a dynamic and exciting work environment, providing direction and leadership.
- The ability to work independently including the development of priorities based on organisational objectives.
