Shape the future of one of Tasmania’s most dynamic communities with Kingborough Council. Located just 15 minutes south of Hobart, Kingborough combines coastal beauty with real opportunity. As one of Tasmania’s fastest-growing municipalities, we’re not just expanding, we’re evolving.

As Council is entering an energising period of renewal, we are embracing fresh approaches and modern ways of working across the organisation. This is a great opportunity to contribute to how Council delivers services, manages its assets, and plans for long‑term community needs.

An exciting opportunity exists for a Manager Asset Management to join the Engineering Services leadership team. This newly created leadership role will work alongside the newly created Manager Program Office role to strengthen the capability and strategic direction of council’s asset engineering function, ensuring our infrastructure networks are planned, managed and renewed sustainably and backed by evidence‑based decision making.

In this pivotal role you will establish and lead a contemporary asset management function. You will be responsible for developing a 20‑year asset management strategy and associated plans to guide sustainable investment, service delivery outcomes, and financial planning. The position creates a centre of excellence by designing and implementing asset management policies, standards, and plans across all asset classes. It also drives the adoption of digital systems and data architecture to enhance asset data capture, reporting, and decision‑making models.

As a successful applicant, you will lead a high-performing Asset Management team, foster collaboration, professionalism, and innovation while ensuring customer focus and compliance. You will mentor staff, support succession planning, and apply industry best practices and ISO 55000 principles to improve asset performance and risk management.

You will hold qualifications in Engineering or demonstrated experience in Asset Management in infrastructure environments.

With the flexibility to maintain a healthy work-life balance, an attractive remuneration package will be negotiated including the private use of a motor vehicle, 12.5% superannuation and a rostered day off each month. The role is being offered on an ongoing full-time basis.
