The Role
This recruitment seeks to fill the EL 1 Engineering Manager role in the Active Electronically Scanned Array Systems Program Office (AESA SPO) within the Electromagnetic Warfare and Intelligence Systems (EWIS) Branch. AESA SPO manages the introduction of innovative Active Electronic Scanned Array radar technology and is the single point of contact for domestic and international arrangements regarding this capability. The EL 1 Engineering Manager in AESA SPO will have the opportunity to apply their skills to a highly exciting portfolio of work while leading a multidisciplinary team of engineers and maintaining all engineering responsibility for the assigned program of work. The role is located in Fyshwick, Canberra, with occasional domestic and international travel required.
The right person for this role will show the flexibility to respond to the changing context and shifting priorities of the Defence environment and the agility to realign resourcing to meet new demands. In this leadership role, you will provide support and guidance to your team to ensure they are sensitive to Defence Strategic direction and to excel, while exercising a significant degree of independence.
This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Collective Agreement (DECA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability.
